Dol

From Postira on south, a road leads to not far hamlet Dol (2 km), preserved in a rural ambience of old houses. Dol was mentioned in far 1137. The parish church of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in 1866. Inside the church is preserved the famous baroque crucifuxion – Dolski Krist. Dol surroundings hide interesting coves and following small churches – of St. Vitus, St. Mihovil, St. Barbara and the small church of St. Peter from the 14th century whose bells are the oldest in Brač.
